Collecting drone imagery at the US-Mexico border wall.

I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography and Environment at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and hold a BSc in Geography from the Univeristy of St Andrews, UK. My interests include all things remote sensing and geospatial and I have experience in communicating technical information and bridging the qualitative methods and critical social theory gap.

Currently, I am “all but dissertation” (ABD), meaning I am in the final stage of my program and I have completed all course work and qualifying comprehensive exams for my degree. I am expected to defend my dissertation Spring 2024. My dissertation research uses remote sensing methods to analyze landscape patterns and geopolitical drivers of strategic dryland agricultural development on borders. I am now excited to explore the next steps of my career and open to a variety of opportunities. The skills I hope to bring to my next role includes a combination of technical expertise as well as big-picture analysis.
